If you have a good amount of house plants like I do, you would want to place them outside for the summer so they can grow and thrive. I plant all of my indoor plants into large pots and combine them to make it easier to water. Most house plants needs to be kept in afternoon shade, morning sun is okay. The main rule was always to bring the plants outside for a few hours than bring them back inside, of course I find that if you place your plants in shade for a week and the temperatures don’t go below 45 degrees just leave them outside. Some foliage may have slight discolorations, and may burn because they are not use to being outside, they recover pretty fast. Just keep them well watered, and after a week or so then start to feed them fertilizer. When the fall season comes around and it’s time to put them back into their pots you may have to prune their roots down to fit back into the original pot. Also prune some of the branches down to make the transition less shocking for the plants. If you like them in the larger size then just pot them into a pot one size larger then the rootball size. Cactuses and succulents do not like direct sun, morning sun and afternoon shade otherwise they will burn and most likely die. Water cactuses and succulents about once a week, a good amount of water. In the winter time mostly once a month. Feed them with a cactus food about half the strength recommended.
