Proper Watering

Most indoor plants are killed by over watering!

During the winter season,  Growing plants indoors is different than growing them outdoors during the Summer season.   Most Plants do not require much watering during their dormant period.  But there is some exceptions for instants Miniature Roses can be watered every other day they need more water even during the winter season indoors.

  • Tropical Plants usually likes their soil slightly dry between watering.
  • Succulents requires watering about every 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Dwarf  Shrubs and Trees needs to be kept evenly moist,  not soaked.
  • Most Blooming Plants likes to be evenly moist,  but not watered too often.

When watering a plant,  I can’t tell people enough times that when you water a plant,  water it until you see water come out of the bottom and drain the saucer of excess water,  do not let plant sit in water unless the plant is an aquatic plant.  Why?  because when watering a plant,  water does not always go down to the roots and plant will die from lack of water.

Water teperature is important during the winter months,  the proper temperature of water should be at room temperature never use cold water.  If you have tap water,  let water sit for 24 hours before using.
